The Nokia-Microsoft alliance is still going strong and Symbian smartphones are the one with the benefit this time.

If you own a Nokia 701, 700, 603, E7, X7, C7, Oro or C6-01, you can now install the Microsoft Office app via the Software Update tool on your smartphones or via the Nokia Suite app on your computer. The Office app will also become available to Nokia N8, Nokia E6 or Nokia 500 in the following weeks, while the 808 PureView will have it preinstalled when it ships. Continue reading »

 

Microsoft has just updated its SkyDrive app on iOS and Windows Phone to version 2.0. The application now supports the iPad, including the Retina screen on the latest one, and there are other new tidbits meant to make the life of the users of both platforms a lot easier.

The HTC One V just completed its final lap in our battery test course and we’re ready to share how the most affordable member of the One family did. It has a relatively small LCD screen and a single CPU core, so its 1500mAh battery should last longer than the slightly larger battery in the One S, which has a bigger AMOLED screen and two CPU cores to feed.

HTC haven’t listed any official battery life numbers on their site, so this is our first look at how long the One V lasts on a daily basis.

Talking is (or rather was in the distant past) one of the most important functions of a phone. The HTC One V does admirably here with full 10 hours of 3G talk time, passing the One S by several minutes.

Nikon has updated its D3100 entry level DSLR with the new D3200. One of the major new features is a high-resolution DX format 24.2 megapixel CMOS sensor, up from the 14.2 megapixel sensor on the D3100. Despite the increased resolution, the new D3200 can now capture images at 4fps in burst mode, compared to 3fps on the D3100.

Other changes include 1080p video recording at 30fps instead of 24fps, 920k dot display instead of 230k dots and the ability to connect a Wi-Fi adaptor. Continue reading »
